If you want to stop the update notice ... click start / run and paste this in :
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger ... then ... delete the yupdater.exeIf you already have Yahoo's Messenger ... do the steps below before download
Right click and EXIT messenger out of the lower task bar by your clock
Click on start (lower left of your screen) ... then settings ... then control panel
Look for the add/remove icon at the top ... right click and select open
Scroll down the list and highlight Yahoo Messenger by clicking it once
Click the add/remove button ... select ... Custom ... { versions 8.0+ have no custom option }
As each option appears ... select all ... for each until you reach finishClick help ... then about ... to see the version messenger your using
Notice : The mail program will not accept attachments ...........
